However, Recently two giants Xbox and Riot Games joined hands and announced their collaboration in June 2022. Furthermore, an Xbox GamePass is known for giving great rewards to its users, and for a Valorant player, any reward is most welcomed. However, most of you don’t know that you can link your Riot account with your Xbox GamePass account. That’s when we came to the rescue, in this article we will tell you how you can link both of your accounts.
Rewards and Benefits
But, before jumping into the process, we will tell you about the benefits and rewards you’ll get after you link your Riot account and Xbox GamePass account. Beginning December 12th, gamers with a Riot Account and a Game Pass membership will be able to earn premium Xbox Game Pass awards and member-only advantages across our titles. For a short period, users linking their Xbox profile to a Riot Account will also earn bonus in-game goodies accessible from December 8, 2022, to January 1, 2023.
The good news for the Sage users they will get a Pocket Sage Buddy as a reward. Other rewards offered by Riot Games are that the Agents will be unlocked on your Agents Contract Screen, you’ll get quick access to new agents on day one, and you’ll get a 20% match XP increase for your Battle Pass, Active Agent Contract, and Event Pass progress. Daily missions, weekly missions, and account-level XP are not eligible for the XP bonus. Xbox Game Pass and Premium PC Cafe Benefits do not stack.
Those who are regular Valorant players who struggle to open new Agents can now easily access them, just by linking the two accounts. But there is one thing that you should keep in mind is that rewards obtained through Xbox Game Pass will be withdrawn if your subscription is terminated, according to a tweet from Riot’s Joe Hixson. However, this does not imply that you will lose all of your progress. “Everything won from gaming will stay unlocked later if you let your membership lapse,” stated Hixson.
How to link your Riot Account and Xbox GamePass Account?
Now let’s jump to the process of how you can link your Riot Account and Xbox GamePass. Follow the below steps.
1. Open the Xbox app, and you will see the Valorant pop-up in the left sidebar. The game indicated that an update was in the works. Select the “Update” option. One thing here to keep in mind is that sometimes the update icon might not work and the Xbox app might crash a few times. In case that happens then don’t worry just reopen the app again and repeat the process. There is nothing to worry about.
2. When you reopen the app, the option to update the game will be gone, and you will be able to launch Valorant from inside the Xbox app. So go ahead and press the “Play” button.
3. Valorant will launch as normal, but this time you will be greeted in-game with the “Xbox Game Pass Benefits” enabled notification. Now, you can confirm that my Riot and Xbox account connecting process worked.

- League of Legends: Wild Rift – League of Legends Advantages: Wild Rift will be released in January 2023. Champions will be unlocked in your Champion Collection, and your XP will be increased by 20%.
- Legends of Runeterra – The Foundations sets will be added to your Collection and Deck Builder.
- League of Legends – Champions will be added to your Champion Collection, and you will get 20% more XP. Purchasing in-game champion skins need a separate purchase of the champion in League of Legends.
- Teamfight Tactics – Unlocked 1-Star Little Legends and 4 Arena Skins may be accessed in the Loadouts selection.
